Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming, while promoting dignity, privacy, and independence.
- Administer medications accurately and according to prescribed schedules, while maintaining proper documentation and adhering to safety protocols.
- Monitor residents' health and well-being, including vital signs, mobility, and nutritional intake, and promptly report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff
- Engage residents in meaningful social activities, recreational programs, and outings to promote mental stimulation, companionship, and a sense of community.
- Assist residents with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration, ensuring dietary preferences, restrictions, and nutritional needs are met.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within a nursing home or assisted living facility is preferred.
- Certification or training as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact compassionately and effectively with elderly residents, families, and colleagues.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for caring for the elderly population.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the evolving needs of residents and the facility.
- Basic proficiency in computer skills for documentation purposes.
